Random Shern’s Introduction
Hello and welcome to this cosy little corner of cosplay. Seeing as cosplay is essentially how I found my way into this community, I figured it would be nice to share where my cosplay journey started and how I have progressed over time.
In 2017 I attended my first convention, London MCM May, I was invited by a good friend, and while my bank account would beg to differ, it’s been one of the best things I’ve done and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
My first slightly rushed adventures into cosplay started with a lot of digging through both my cupboards and the internet, searching for some inspiration and supplies, which resulted in two ideas.

As I’ve gone to more comic cons, I’ve gained more cosplays, more friends, more people to bounce ideas off of and get inspiration from, and more skills. For me it’s all about learning and progressing, soaking up knowledge and finding new ways to use what I already know… and having fun.
I will be sharing how these cosplays were put together in future posts, I hope that is something you might be interested to hear about, and I hope it might even give you some inspiration to give it a go yourself, whether that’s just adapting a cosplay you already have or attempting a cosplay from the ground up.
